Three teenagers from Shikangania suburbs on the outskirts of Kakamega town are being held at a police station in Kakamega town on suspicion of killing their father for allegedly breaking into their house and stealing their mobile phone while on their way to school.

According to a family member led by his mother Leonida Keya, they say they found the body of their loved one with serious injuries suggesting the suspects followed their father to where he had gone to attend the funeral procession before beating him to death and throwing his body into the bush.

It is alleged that the suspects are fourth, second and seventh grade students at Mwiyala High School and Elukho Primary School respectively. The family is now calling the police department to ensure justice is done

It is a case that has been confirmed by the Kakamega OCPD David Kabena, who said that the three will be prosecuted as soon as the investigation is completed. The victim’s body is being preserved at Kakamega Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem.
