A dormitory at Kakamega High School was early Saturday morning burnt down. Reliable sources have established that the fire started while students were in class for their morning preps.

While the cause of the fire is yet to be established Kakamega Deputy OCPD, Daniel Mutisya says that quick investigations will be carried out to ascertain the cause. According to the school’s principal Gerald Orina no casualties were reported.

This follows similar incidents witnessed in a number of schools across the country in the past two weeks and parents from this region allege lack of prepared, anxiety and depression as some f the causes.

Parents of students at the school will now pay for damages incurred on the institution’s premises following the fire incidents in the schools a directive which has sparked uproar among stakeholders in the education sector.
