Africa based e-commerce giant Jumia has picked ex-Britam’s Betty Mwangi as its new Chief Executive Officer for its Kenyan unit.

She takes over the mantle of leadership from Sam Chappate who has been promoted to a senior role within the continental based Group after serving as its Kenyan CEO for the past five years.

Ms Mwangi has previously served as the Group Commercial Director for Britam between 2016 and 2021 after originally joining the company in 2013.

She has previously worked as the Director of Financial Services for Safaricom’s M-Pesa during its formative years from 2007 to 2016.
