Residents of Malava Constituency are breathing a sigh of relief following the appointment of Humphrey Sechelo as the new manager of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). This transition follows the untimely passing of Collins Obuya, who tragically lost his life in a road accident in the Nyanza region. With the pivotal role of the CDF manager in facilitating local projects and programs, residents were understandably concerned about the continuity of development initiatives in the area.
Sechelo, a certified public accountant, assumes the role of CDF manager at a crucial time, serving as the vital link between the National Government and the citizens of Malava. His oversight mandate comes with the responsibility of ensuring that ongoing projects proceed without hindrance, directly impacting the lives of community members.
At a recent bus handover ceremony at Chimoroni Secondary School, organized by Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi, Sechelo expressed his commitment to completing all ongoing projects on schedule. This dedication, he stated, is essential for demonstrating effective representation and providing tangible benefits to the constituents of Malava.
Moreover, Sechelo spoke highly of the dedication and teamwork exhibited by his staff at the constituency office. He believes that their collaborative spirit will foster a conducive working environment, ultimately leading to better service delivery for the people of Malava.
Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi also shared his confidence in Sechelo’s capabilities, highlighting his academic background, extensive experience, and valuable connections with higher government offices. Injendi emphasized that these attributes position Sechelo as a key asset for driving development in Malava, promising significant advancements for the constituency.
The bus handover ceremony marked a momentous occasion as Malulu presented two 42-seater buses to Chimoroni and Shamoni secondary schools in Chemuche and South Kabras wards. He announced further projects scheduled for the coming weeks, including a ceremony to inaugurate an administration block at Tombo Primary School.
Through the National Government Constituency Development Fund, Malulu is currently advocating for multiple projects, including the construction of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Malava, as well as multi-storey buildings in Lugusi and Samitsi Girls’ School. He asserted that these initiatives aim to boost academic standards and improve the livelihoods of both students and residents in the region.
Veronica Onacha, the principal of Chimoroni Secondary School, praised Malulu’s unwavering commitment to educational empowerment through infrastructural support. She noted that such initiatives have resulted in increased university admissions, thus contributing to the overall improvement of educational standards in the region. The sentiment was echoed by various political and administrative leaders present, who expressed gratitude for the MP’s dedication to the welfare of local residents.
