Democratic Party of Kenya (DAP-K) has warned that it will not allow affiliate parties in the Azimio la Umoja movement field their candidates seeking various seats to contest in Kakamega County.  Deputy party leader and Lugari member of parliament Ayub Savula has particularly singled out Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which he said should strictly focus on the presidential seat instead of fielding its contestants in the area.

While on a campaign trail, Savula said that it will be suicidal if ODM decides to field its candidates to vie for other seats noting that they were fully prepared to clinch those positions hence will not allow competition from other affiliate parties. He made the remarks on Thursday evening when he addressed members of the public in Malava town in Kakamega North Sub-county. He was in the company of East Kabras Ward Member of the County Assembly Lazaro Luchebeleli.

The legislator said that they were ready to campaign and ensure that Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga clinches the seat and in return other parties in the movement should shun from fielding candidates against them to vie for various position within the county. He said as DAP Kenya they were prepared to support him through the Azimio la Umoja movement in return for their (ODM) support in other elective posts starting from the gubernatorial position of which he is an interested party.

He reiterated his interest in vying for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat in the August 9 general elections.
