Vihiga County is set to hire more healthcare workers in its public hospitals following a recommendation by the Senate Health Committee. According to Vihiga Senator, Godfrey Osotsi, who spoke in an interview with this station, the county government will employ additional healthcare professionals to cater to the growing needs of the county’s population.

Osotsi emphasized that the move is aimed at reducing corruption and ensuring that patients receive quality healthcare services. He also called on the national government to complete projects that have been initiated but left incomplete, citing online payment of medical bills as one such initiative.

The senator further highlighted the need for transparency in the management of county funds, urging the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to take stern action against those found embezzling public funds.
