Residents of Chombeli village, Sasala sub-location, Malava constituency woke up to disturbing news after a body of a middle-aged man was found lying dead outside the home of a young man who died two months ago.
According Joseph Ouna, the owner of the homestead, his grandchildren woke up for school early in the morning and found an old man whom they do not recognize next to the door. After confirming the news of his grandchildren he informed the assistant chief.
Ouna observed that traditional practices ought to be performed to cleanse his grandchildren from bad spirits.
Confirming the incident, Area Assistant Chief Mr. Micah Mwonyonyo, said that after receiving the information, he informed officers from Malava police station.
Mr. Mwonyonyo said that the rate of insecurity is on the rise owing to the fact that Lubao market lies between two bordering constituencies and its metropolitan nature proves to be difficult for the residents to identify new comers.
He further warned local chang’aa brewers of the penalties that await them as they were great contributors of the high crime rate in the area. The body of the deceased was taken to the Kakamega Funeral Home while further investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
