Bodaboda riders from Senyende area in Murhanda Ward, Shinyalu Constituency, Kakamega County, are appealing to their Member of Parliament, Fred Ikana, to visit the area and witness the challenges they face. They are particularly concerned about the poor condition of the roads, which is causing their motorcycles to wear out quickly. They are also requesting that Ikana visit Senyende School to assess its needs. Gerald Muhanga, one of the bodaboda riders, expressed their plea.

The riders are also affected by the high prices of petrol, which often leaves them stranded. They are urging the President to reduce the price of petrol to 150 Kenyan shillings per liter.

In addition to their appeals, the bodaboda riders have formed a registered association and are calling on MP Ikana to construct a shelter for them and enhance the sector.

Meanwhile, the youth who were engaged in the farmers’ registration exercise last year are requesting assistance from Kakamega County Governor Fcpa Fernandez Barasa to receive their five-day additional allowances, which they have not yet received. Chrispinus Imonje explains their plight.
