As the government, through the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), continues to seek a lasting solution in the transport sector, leaders have urged residents in rural areas to engage in income-generating activities and allow the government to handle the challenges related to high fuel costs.
The Assistant Chief of Handidi Sub-location, Sammy Shilagava, speaking at the office of the Chief of Lubao Location, called on residents of the area to take part in development activities that will benefit both themselves and the community, while urging them to avoid demonstrations during this difficult period in Kenya.
He also advised residents to ensure the safety of their livestock and farm produce during this harvest season in order to improve their livelihoods.
In addition, he thanked all those who turned up at his office to submit applications for educational bursaries and assured them that appropriate measures would be taken to address the matter. Furthermore, he announced that various plans had been put in place in the area to ensure that the community continues to move forward in unity and development
