Arsenal were confirmed Premier League champions after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth, ending the Gunners’ 22-year wait for the title. Mikel Arteta’s side had moved five points clear after beating Burnley 1-0 and were confirmed champions when City failed to win. Bournemouth continued their impressive season by extending their unbeaten league run and securing European football for the first time in club history.

City, who had recently completed a domestic cup double, looked fatigued and struggled throughout the match. Teenage striker El Junior Kroupi scored a stunning goal for Bournemouth before Erling Haaland rescued a late equalizer in stoppage time. Pep Guardiola, who is expected to leave at the end of the season, watched his side’s title hopes disappear after a disappointing campaign by their standards. The result also boosted Liverpool’s hopes of finishing in the top five and qualifying for the Champions League.
