Residents of Ivakale village in Isukha North ward, Shinyalu constituency, Kakamega county were grieved after a body of a middle aged man was found dead in a cane plantation.
The body of the deceased was found by women who were headed for farm work in the shamba and were shocked to find the body of a unknown man lying dead and besides it was a can of actellic super, a fumigant that is used by farmers as perservative for cereal against weavils.
Confirming the incident, Ivakale sub location assistant chief, Joshua Likabo said that the man is suspected to have consumed the drug found besides him warning residents against who are depressed to seek solace from friends who they can confine in.
He cautioned residents to always have identification documents when moving across the village to avoid a case like the current one where the deceased cannot be identified as he had nothing to aid them trace his location.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Kakamega Teaching and Referral Hospital.
