Police in Kakamega South sub-county are investigating a case where their colleague is accused of falsely acquiring money under false pretence from unsuspecting traders in the area. A report at Iguhu police post OB number 06/04/2021 describes a case by an MPESA attendant against Officer Zahnun Musa Ore attached to CIPU Regional Commander Western who is said to have obtained Kshs. 5000 and failed to produce the cash even after successfully receiving the money on his phone on Sunday evening.
A similar attempt on the same shop yesterday requesting a deposit of Kshs. 2800 raised suspicion from the attendant who alerted bodaboda operators in the market centre as well as police officers who apprehended him and handed him to the law enforcers. While he awaits police action from DCI Kakamega South Sub County several individuals have come out accusing the police officer against solicitation through false pretence.
