The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Kakamega Chapter, in collaboration with partners such as AAR Insurance, Advatech Office Supplies, KCB Kakamega Branch, and KCIDA, successfully hosted the first-ever Kakamega Business Awards on Wednesday 10th January 2024 at Golf Hotel Kakamega.
The event aimed to applaud the exceptional efforts of thirty-five individuals, county leaders, and chamber officials who have played a pivotal role in fostering the economic growth of Kakamega.
The highlight of the awards was the recognition of Mr. E. O Ambwere, who emerged as the overall winner. Mr. Ambwere’s significant contributions have not only impacted the business landscape of Kakamega but have reverberated throughout the entire Western region.
As the recipient of the main award, he serves as an inspiration, encouraging fellow entrepreneurs to emulate his unwavering spirit of business development and growth driven by passion.
H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa, OGW,Kakamega County Governor was honored as the patron of the Kakamega business community and designated as member number one of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kakamega chapter.
The event also served as a platform to acknowledge the commendable leadership of Dr. Eric Rutto, the president of the chamber, whose guidance has played a pivotal role in steering the chamber towards success.
Several other businesses were also recognized for their outstanding contributions, including Mitra Group of Companies, Midland Emporium Kakamega, Western Cross Ltd, Western Fishing Flies Ltd, Dahlia Distributors, LabedCash Marine Enterprise Ltd, Tax Credit Consulting, AAR Insurance Ltd, Advatech Office Supplies, Holden Mall, and Lianfam Africa Ltd, among others.
Beyond the awards, the event provided an invaluable opportunity to pay tribute to past leaders of the Kakamega chapter.
The first session of the Kakamega Business Awards and Gala Dinner delved into critical issues affecting businesses today, with a particular focus on taxation, enlightened attendees on topics such as tax risk management in business, general risk management, and investment and financing.
The Kakamega Business Awards not only celebrated success but also fostered a sense of community among businesses.
