Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Ambetsa has been asked to frequently monitor and evaluate the workmanship of the management of the Kakamega Referral Hospital so as to ensure that staffs are given an ample time to execute their duties.

This is a collective plea of staff members from different departments at the hospital who decry of the poor state of working conditions coupled with delays in salaries among other complains.

The staff members who among them are widows who are the sole providers of their families lament that they have  to bear with continued insults which to them is  undermining their well being and their only hope is the county officials including the governor to intervene and ensure that they get their pay and also have an ample working environment.

Speaking by telephone, a member of the hospital’s management denied the allegations, saying the situation was due to lack of resources.

Kakamega County Health Minister Dr Collins Matemba did not miss the point when he explained that the situation was due to the central government’s delay in providing the required amount of money to county governments. He urged the staff to be patient.
