A person was burnt beyond recognition while two others sustained serious injuries following a road accident that involved three vehicles at the Nzoia Bridge near Kaburengu trading center along the Eldoret-Webuye highway.
The Sunday, October 30, incident involved a cargo truck, tipper-truck and a private car. As eye witnesses narrate, the accident occurred after a cargo truck that was travelling towards Webuye had technical hitches when decelerating the sheer Chimoi slope ramming into the other two vehicles.
The collision caused the truck to burst into flames with the fire spreading immensely, burning its driver beyond recognition. The tipper-truck that was ferrying construction materials swerved off the road before overturning while the private car was hit and thrown several meters from the road.
The drivers of the other two vehicles escaped with minor injuries and were rescued and rushed to Webuye sub county hospital while the remains of the deceased were taken to the mortuary at the same facility.
