Residents of Kakamega County want the National Assembly to consider the input by Butere Member of the National Assembly, Tindi Mwale and increase the CDF kitty from the current 2.5% to 5%. This was a collective plea to the parliamentary committee on CDF during a public participation exercise in Navakholo constituency.

Led by Kennedy Ngao, the residents decried increase in prices of the basic commodities as well as the hardships they encounter, specifically following the covid 19 pandemic that destabilized business and the general way of life globally. Assuring the residents that their input will be put into consideration, the committee’s chairman who is also the Member of National Assembly for Kanduyi Constituency stated that it is their mandate to engage the public on various bills and reports that are presented at the flow of the house to ensure that the issues being discussed are one that affected mwananchi directly.
