Nearly one hundred thousand children lose their lives every year from road accidents in the world.

This is according to the national chairperson of the road safety authority (NTSA) Agnes Adhiambo at the launch of the second phase campaign to citizens on road safety prepared at Kakoyi primary school in Malava constituency

According to Adhiambo many of these deaths are caused by the abuse of the road without considering children and the public. As a result, the chairman now asks county governments to cooperate with them, to see that visits among children are reduced by placing road signs in areas near schools

Kakamega Deputy Governor Kakamega Professor Philip Kutima, speaking on the occasion, warned the people to be vigilant, especially as the Christmas season approaches to prevent road accidents.

Kakamega county commissioner Pauline Dola asked Boda Boda operators not is misused by politicians as the country prepares for the general elections.
