After the yesterday’s episode at Bukhungu stadium where the outgoing governor Kakamega county governor Wycliffe Oparanya farewell party was turned into a Cleophas Malala affair by the crowd, today the Azimio brigade led by Oparanya himself made a spectacular appearance in Ingavira primary school in South Kabras ward as part of strengthening their campaigns in the subcounty at what the county chief termed as gathering Kabras ever elusive votes.

The high profiled team comprising of the aspiring governor Fernandes Barasa, his deputy Ayub Savula, Women Rep Elsie Muhanda, National Assembly chief whip Emmanuel Wangwe, aspiring Senator Dr. Brian Lishenga aspiring Malava Mps, Joab Manyasi ODM and Caleb Sunguti DAP Kenya among other political figures affiliated to Azimio stormed the venue in style to demystify the notion that the sub county was a Kenya Kwanza stronghold  and instead put their campaign strategies in place to woe voters who turned out in their hundreds.

The aspiring deputy governor Ayub Savula charged the crowd when he announced that Azimio was willing to pay school fees for Cleophas Malala to complete his studies at the university and later ensure that he is employed by the TSC be a theatre and drama teacher.

Savula stated that his leadership with Fernandes Barasa was a blessed one and which will bring tremendous changes not only in the county but the sub county as well.

Barasa on his part stated that he was all set to complete the Dairy project the outgoing governor had started and further promised to ensure that Malava inroads are tarmacked to attract more investors.

He added that his administration will set aside 50million towards empowering women in business as part of generating more revenue to the county and called on the people to vote for them as it was obvious that Azimio was going to form the next government come August.

 The Kakamega count women rep Elsie Muhanda took issue with the East Kabras Mca Lazaro Lucheveleli (DAP Kenya) for his undying  support and campaigns for her opponent Naomi Shiyonga whom she termed as a weak candidate as far the county women mp position was concerned.

She said she was politically mature enough to encounter any of her political onslaught and cautioned her against being used by political brokers like Lazaro at the expense of her financial position to drum for her political support that was not forth coming.

Earlier on when called upon to speak, Lazaro had lauded the governor for his good leadership and his coming with Barasa and Savula to campaign but quickly pointed out that they wanted the duo to ensure that they plan their own meeting in the subcounty and that they should also recognize Naomi Shiyonga as the Kabras people choice on the Women rep position.

Oparanya thanked the Kabras people for supporting him during his two term as a governor and assured them that he will be bringing more development in the subcounty after the assumes office as the finance minister in the Azimio government.

He rubbished the Kenya kwanza perceived popularity I the subcounty as an illusion that will soon wither out as the election time nears and requested the voters to elect Barasa and Raila as governor and president respectively if they wanted to have a better Kenya.

The governor also hinted that there was some ongoing midnight talks between him and Malava MP, Malulu Injendi (ANC) on his crossing over after the latter realizing that Azimio was going to take over the next country’s leadership and lauded the move as a bold one.
