In an effort to enhance service delivery and streamline operations, the County Government of Kakamega has announced several changes to its leadership structure. The reshuffle includes key appointments and reassignments to various positions within the government.

One of the significant changes is the appointment of Benjamin Andama as the new County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Public Service and County Administration. Andama, who previously served as the CECM for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Cooperatives, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Godfrey Owori has been elevated to the position of CECM for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Cooperatives, having previously overseen Public Service and County Administration. These changes are aimed at leveraging the expertise of the officials and ensuring efficient service delivery to the residents of the county.

Other notable changes include Bill Silingi’s transition to the Chief Officer for Cooperatives Development from his previous role as Chief Officer for Crop Protection and Irrigation. Emmanuel Njenga Kariuki has also moved to become the Chief Officer for Crop Protection and Irrigation, swapping positions with Silingi.

Faith Gitira and Shakir Adan have exchanged roles, with Gitira now serving as Chief Officer for Trade, Enterprise Development, Weights, and Measures, while Adan has assumed the role of Chief Officer for Urban Development and Housing.

Furthermore, Joseph Abucheri has taken on the position of Chief Officer for E-government and Communication, with Joseph Lutilo now serving as the Chief Officer for Youth, Sports, and Library Services. These changes are expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to their respective roles.

Justin Mutobera has transitioned to the role of Chief Officer for Land Administration, Survey, and Physical Planning, while Musafiri Kulova has replaced him in the Department of Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change. These changes are part of the county government’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
