Miraa traders are set to benefit from the new collaboration by the Ministry of Interior in the county government of Meru. Through establishment of a team whose sole task will be to woo foreign custromers to purchase miraa, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. fred Matiangi says they have selected a team that consists professionals from relevant government and county whose main role is to ensure that matters affecting the crop are handled.
he CS was speaking at the launch of the National Scientific Miraa Conference jointly organised by the Meru County Government and the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) at the University of Nairobi.
The intergovernmental standing committee will now take over the implementation of the report by the Task Force on the Development of the Miraa Industry.
