A family in Kapkoy area, Kwanza constituency, Trans Nzoia County is mourning the death of their son after he was allegedly killed by his neighbour.

The form two student at the Mwangaza secondary school is said to have succumbed to head injuries inflicted on him by the said neighbour, Ibrahim Namaswa following a land dispute.

Festo Wekesa noted that the culprit hit his brother multiple times on the head, killing him on the spot before disappearing into thin air.

Wekesa further said that the family had very huge expectations with their son and that they are yet to come to terms with the unfortunate turn of events. He added that other family members fear for their lives because the suspect is still at large.

They have called for a speedy manhunt operation and arraigning of the suspect. The suspect is also accused of allegedly murdering the deceased mother-in-law in 2018 over a five-acre land dispute.

Kwanza Sub County Police Commander James Odero confirmed the incident and said police officers have already launched a manhunt for the suspect for further legal action. Odero asked members of the public with differences to consider alternative dispute resolution mechanisms instead of using violence to resolve their issues.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Kitale County Referral Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
