Kakamega Homeboyz have sacked the entire technical bench citing discipline as the major reason. Speaking to one media house in kenya, club CEO Cleophas Shimanyula confirmed the club had parted ways with the technical bench and they will be naming their replacement soon.
Sacked head coach Bernard Mwalala who took over from Nickolas Muyoti in august 2021 led Homeboyz to a runner-up finish in the league, behind tusker, but many cite him for the club’s failure to win the gong having at one point enjoyed a healthy 11-point lead over the brewers, only to lose it on goal difference.
Team manager Boniface Imbenzi has refuted claims that the entire Kakamega Homeboyz technical bench has been fired, insisting he is still the team manager. Imbenzi claimed that the only affected people are the coaching staff led by head coach Bernard Mwalala.
Asked why the coaching staff was shoved aside, Imbenzi opted not to answer directly, noting that it is the club chairman who can give an explanation. Kakamega Homeboyz finished second on goal difference behind eventual champions tusker last season despite leading the title race for the better part of the season, even stretching the lead to 11 points at some point.

Kenya rugby sevens team head coach Damian Mcgrath says he is under pressure to name squad to the commonwealth games slated for Birmingham in the United Kingdom later this month.
But the English coach has insisted that no one is guaranteed a place in the squad.
This comes as Shujaa intensify training at Kasarani bubble camp and McGrath says he wants to give every player a chance to prove themselves together with new players that he picked from the national sevens circuit.
Shujaa reached the semi-final in gold coast, Australia in 2018 where they finished eighth after losing to wales in seventh place match.
The coach is optimistic of taking Kenyan rugby back to its glorious days starting with the commonwealth games where they target to go past the group and knockout stages into the medal bracket.
The commonwealth games rugby sevens competition is set to begin on 29–31 July 2022 at Coventry stadium, with the edition set to tentatively start on 28 July – 8 august 2022.
