Over 100 pupils of Ndalala Primary School in Kwanza, Trans Nzoia county, will for the second day consecutively study under trees after strong winds blew away some of their classroom roofs.

In an interview , the school’s deputy headteacher Margaret Yego said no casualties were registered in the Friday evening incident that destroyed three classes that housed PP1, Class 5 and Class 6 pupils.

She said the school management had already made proposals to the Kwanza constituency National Government Constituency Development Fund committee to repair the infrastructure.

Silas Wakoli said the situation in the school is dire and called for urgent intervention so that normalcy can resume in the school that has been in existence since 1995.

Erick Wamalwa, an old boy of the dilapidated school asked Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, to visit the school and help find a solution to the situation that is affecting pupils’ academic performance.
