Daystar University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Laban Ayiro has urged Mulembe nation to invest heavily in education.

Ayiro urged the clergy and the political class to work as a team to ensure education standards remain high. 

He spoke at Kidundu Stadium where Governor Wilber Ottichilo was reading the state of the county address featuring his scorecard for the last four years he has been office.

Ayiro’s sentiments come after Ottichilo said court cases in the county were crippling his service delivery to residents.

The VC also cautioned the Luhya community over handout culture, saying its dragging the society backwards.

Ayiro said the community should be the source of handouts and not receivers.

He said the handout culture has corrupted youths across as a majority is being paraded on road sides, funerals and churches.
